Expressive Portraits

“Dream” – is a visual narrative inspired by an authentic family story about emigration to the United States at the end of the 19th century. The main character, a young man named Antanas, leaves his native village driven by hope and the desire to build a better life. His journey reveals not only the challenges of emigration but also the search for identity, adaptation to a new environment, and an inner connection with his homeland.

The book combines historical storytelling with artistic expression, using different art techniques for each chapter: watercolor, graphite, charcoal, pastel, and ink. This visual language helps convey the character’s emotional state and the various stages of emigration.
